Who wants another Hulk smash?
At first, we thought that this would be another boring film since it deviates and makes a new storyline away from Eric Bana's Hulk film directed by Chinese mega-director Ang Lee. But it's better than we exprected. The new Hulk film looks stronger, appealing and dynamic compare to the previous film. What makes the previous Hulk film less appealling is the fact that Ang Lee's direction focused more on the drama and emotional side of Bruce Banner. The special effects factor and the explosive action were less, if there was it featured less involvement of the main cast and all we've seen is the 3D Hulk does all the rampage. This time around, the film is promising with a far more complicated fighting and escapade scenes executed by Edward Norton. The Hulk is even more meaner, edger and raging in its innovative 3D animated form. We've seen lots of detailed texture and emotions in the 3D Hulk in contrast to the previous film. He even unleashed some of his "very-comic" traditional moves like "Hulk smash" and legendary high jump from building to another building.
In terms of romance and tragedy, this film is a tearjerker when it showed the deep relationship of Betty and Bruce separated by life's cirmcumstances. They were torn apart from each other because of the tragic accident that happened in the past which led Bruce to run away, hide from the outside world and left the woman he loved. Their fate was intertwined once again when Bruce returned to America hoping to find a cure for his uncontrolled second personality which is the Hulk triggered hoevery time he gets angry.
But it led to another tragedy when the future-Hulk villain who's a wise scientist got hold of Bruce gamma-radiated blood and planned to used it in creating more Hulks. Another important villian that emerged as the green goliath's fierce nemesis was Abomination, a carbon copy of Hulk who possesed the same superstrength with sharp bones and spines. At first, General Ross, Betty's father thought of using the Hulk as his secret weapon but Bruce objected his plan that led to his escape and hide in Central America. In his struggle to capture Bruce, he wanted to make another Hulk by experimentating one of his fierciest soldiers using gamma chemicals who accidentally became Abomination. Abomination became obsessed in destroying Hulk that later turned him insane. He rampaged New York City right after his transformation into Abomination and Bruce had no choice but to fight him. Their battle created earth-shaking effects and tested the Hulk's real power. In the end, the Hulk won and saved Betty Ross with his father, General Ross from the fangs of death.
After Hulk saved the city, he decided to hide again. This time he wanted to stay away for a while not to find a cure or remove the Hulk from his body but to control it. And he somehow succeeded in fulfilling it, an indication that this is not yet the last time we will see the green goliath in the movies. There will be more... of Hulk and his fellow Avengers as indicated by Robert Downey, Jr, the latest Hollywood hunk who played Iron Man and brought the film to the top of the blockbuster chart this year.
