Hugh Jackman has sent Ain't It Cool News a note about the additional filming taking place in Vancouver right now for X-Men Origins: Wolverine along with this new promo photo featuring (from left to right) Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), Remy LeBeau/Gambit (Taylor Kitsch), Logan/Wolverine (Jackman), Victor Creed/Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) and Silver Fox (Lynn Collins). The Gavin Hood-directed prequel opens in theaters on May 1st.

Fierce

The fiercest X-man is coming your way this May 1st, 2009 in worldwide cinemas. Yes guys, Wolverine aka Logan, the deadliest and fearless mutant of all will rock the silver screen with a gang of powerhouse cast of super-powered mutants.

As a prequel to the highly-successful X-men trilogy, “X-men Origins: Wolverine” picks up the adventures and struggles of Logan before he took the mantle as one of Charles Xavier’s X-men destined to protect humanity from the wrath of Magneto and Dark Phoenix.

Comicbook fans and X-men animated series fanatics will surely get mesmerized by the film’s dynamic capturing of Wolverine’s clouded history. They would finally know the secret origin of Wolverine known as “James Howlett”, a mutant British soldier who undergone extreme experimentation for Weapon X program to obtain the indestructible “Adamantium” skeleton first revealed in the pages of X-men Origin comics. Truth is, Wolvie’s real age might be more than 100 years old already due to his mutant healing factor that slowed his aging process. In the film, he gets to meet Sabertooth or Victor Creed, his deadliest and psychotic nemesis that would leave painful scars in his life. And yes, Gambit, the mutant exploding and charming “raging Cajun” who hides a dark plot against the X-men but destined to become one of them. Oh yes, there’s Deadpool, the misunderstood mutant in the X-men comics who always gets the villain tag but can be a great hero, too. I don’t want to spoil the party so you better check out the promotional photos and teaser trailers everywhere to get a loud clue about what I mean.

"It’s time to party bub"…as what Logan would say to those who anticipate his first-ever film.
