Poetically speaking

Bryan, Carmz and Marx… in cryptic mood

Nothing really matters

when we were very young

nothing really mattered to us

we were the only ones

wanting so much to dream

now that we're grown ups

everything change

life will never be the same

Our childhood years is filled with imaginations and expectations. we wanted to soar in the sky, paint it freely with acrylic paints from our reveries and hang our canvas in one corner of our room. That room doesn't exist anywhere in this world but inside us, in our heart. Poetry often describes that small, unseen space as artistic passion. The very dream we have is our passion.

It was more than a year already when we embraced one of the most significant decision we made in our humble artistic life as nurturing artists. Taking the chance to become animators, we were given the power and somehow a bit of control of our gifts to make our imaginations into reality, give life to our nonsense doodling and oftentimes, forgotten sketches. We owe it to our mentors in the training. Most of them are dreamers too. They tried their best to nurture their gifts and when they learn something, they share it to us without hesitation. Call it an artist's passion, the artistic way of expressing someone's inner creativity. The training was over before the year ended but the rest of didn't stop learning. We wanted to conquer our limitations, prove something and walk the rough road. We didn't gain something financially rewarding amid all the stumble and several flaws. But we were proud to learn something relevant-- that you'll get somewhere out there if you a take chance.

Nothing takes the past away

Even if we keep staring into the future

Nothing takes all the regrets for good

Dreaming is useless without a bit of dark clouds

we need a shelter from the storm

the times we've shared is enough

to find ourselves in the process

Artistically speaking, this could be the last piece of gratitude we can express while looking back from where we started. We are grateful for each other's craziness and scratches in each other's back to finally realize who we really are without the mirror.

Jay, you transform our failures into metal alloys.

Janelyn, why does your heart is more than one?

Bray, sometimes we hate your mood swings that saved us.

Tatang, try to be mean sometimes when we get insensitive.

Brynh, does your untied shoe lace affects your wit?

Racil, treasure all the annoying text of your bestfriend outside the fence.

Sly, enough with all your tattoos in your wall.

Kyle, you're the first one to get scratched in Kuris art soon.

Romel, how did you get your browns eyes (Raz asked)?

Carmz, we love your friendster design

Dads, where in the world is your existence now?

Dyv, drop us some call if you feel you need us

Bebs, I'll send your questions so please answer it right away.

Sir K, sometimes, we love and hate your teasing when we are annoyed.

Elson, how long wll you get stuck in your anime mood?

Lloyd, how's your call center life now?

Jhobs, how's you and Lloyd in call center life now?

Madz, stop giving us your allowance when we are broke

Marx, you're not broke now so treat us for a meal!

P.S.--- Nothing really matters at all. You thought we won't solve your riddle and excess blabbings mysterious Shrek? the shrubs of beard in your face reflects how pathetically failure and frauldaulent you are as a can't-draw, underachiever-sasquatch you are. You are still in chains with your insecurities. Promise, your name is not accessible to yahoo search even how many times we type your name. Call it unpopular for someone who claims to be a scion of a hot clan. Some not-so-hot pancakes I guess, hehe.

The BEQUEST: Passion turned historical and significant

Ilonggos can finally claim to have their own first-ever animated film through The BEQUEST: Origin of Dinagyang. The animated short film first shown at SM Cinema 7 last January 25, 2008, had another four-day film showing last February 26-29 at WVCST Educational Center (ED TECH). The film showing was a generous response of Kuris Animators, the group of Ilonggo animators who created it in their effort to uplift Ilonggo culture and artistry through animation.
From 10am to 5pm, the animated film is constantly repeated in a wide-screen multi media presentation inside the venue to cater groups of high school and college students coming from various schools and universities in Iloilo City who were invited by the animators. The Daily Guardian and RMN Radio once again promoted The BEQUEST as its official media partners prior the film showing date.
The biggest group of audience came from Iloilo National High School-School for the Arts with more than 150 viewers under the guidance of Mrs. Mendoza followed by students from Central Philippine University taking up history subject under Professor Nievales. In fact, CPU students were instructed by their professor to write a comprehensive reaction paper about the film as their final project. After every film showing, Kuris Animator's project representatives, Diosdado Aguilar, Jr. and Ronelo Ladiao talks about the secret behind the making of the film, the group's hardship and inspiration to createa breakthrough project (not to mention some students wanted to have a picture taking and autograph-signing with the animators).
With the overwhelming positive response of the audience about The BEQUEST, Kuris Animators knew they started a significant mark in Iloilo City. The film sure has educational and cultural essence that definitely came from their passion. (Ronelo Ladiao)
