Sir K talks!

Chat

For the past months, Kuris Animators have been going through a lot of transitions. They are eager to learn and spend more time honing their skills as well as passion for their chosen craft. They have been busy coping up with the pressure of several projects and positive feedback. The BEQUEST has been gaining massive attention from the internet lately and the number of viewers of its trailer grew swiftly at youtube. Well, thanks to the blogger extraordinaire, Brian Gorrell, his insights about Kuris proved to be a big major turning point.

But amid all the pressures and changes, Kuris’ ever-optimistic adviser and former animation instructor, Mr. Karlo Sira is one of the team’s biggest inspiration to chase their dream and enjoy each other’s company. From day one this group of amateur animators decided to form a team, his presence seemed visible in every endeavor and project. He admired how this small group of artists bravely faced the odds and proved that Ilonggo animators create something great out of their passion.
Taking a break from the hectic schedule of the special project where selected Kuris Animators are also part of it, Sir Karlo expressed his sentiments and positive forecast for the future of the group। Here are some of his good insights in a candid interview with the

Kuris Blog Editor…

Hex: Since you were responsible in recommending selected members of Kuris to the special project of WVCST Computer Department this year, what are the good feedbacks you received lately about the group’s output?
Sir Karlo: Personally, I am very much contented with your groupmate’s effort
They have proven their skills and talents in computer graphics. The good quality of work they showed in the project made us proud. All the hard work is paying well now. Let’s hope we can maintain that good start.
Hex: I believe you are also part of the special project (making animated/graphic modules for selected government agencies), how is it like working with them again since The BEQUEST?
Sir Karlo: It’s always fun to be with them. We compliment each other’s unique personalities and talents. We learn a lot of things together not only as their former instructor but as a team member. Whatever hardship and challenges comes along the way, we can easily overcome it because we make sure that we did our best.
Hex: Is there any good advises you can give them about their plan to join the Animahenasyon 2008?
Sir Karlo: I always say this to them—just believe in your dreams and live your passion. Stay humble and contented with what you have. Learn to share everything and keep moving on.
Hex: The BEQUEST and Kuris were recently mentioned in the blog of a famous Australian blogger—Brian Gorrell, a local newspaper also made a news article about their appearance in that blog, do you think it really made a difference?
Sir Karlo: The group has always been optimistic and passionate with what they do so it’s a compliment to be appreciated by Gorrell. The BEQUEST is a proof of their hardwork, dedication and perseverance to share something great for Ilonggo culture so I am glad that lots of people truly appreciate their talents right now. And I hope the future would be much better for them and their dreams.
Hex: Last query, are you contented with the kind of direction Kuris is heading for?
Sir Karlo: Sure, they never stop learning, developing their skills and talents. They’re not afraid to risk and pursue the things they like to do. Right now, I am contented with the way people are recognizing their effort and appreciating their goal to uplift Ilonggo culture through animation.
